MOLYKOTE Longterm 2 Plus Extreme Pressure Bearing Grease

MOLYKOTE® Longterm 2 Plus is an NLGI Grade 2 industrial grease designed for applications where mechanical loads are high and operating speeds range from slow to moderately fast. Its formulation combines mineral base oil with a lithium soap thickener, solid lubricants and performance additives to provide dependable lubrication under demanding operating conditions.

The grease is particularly useful in applications exposed to high contact pressure, vibration, moisture or intermittent movement. Solid lubricants and extreme pressure additives help reduce wear when metal surfaces operate under mixed-friction conditions, while the adhesive properties of the grease help maintain a protective lubricating film on working surfaces.

With a service temperature range of approximately -25°C to +110°C and short-term capability up to +130°C, MOLYKOTE Longterm 2 Plus can be considered for a broad range of industrial and mobile-equipment lubrication requirements. The product has a base oil viscosity of approximately 265 mm²/s at 40°C and a black appearance.

Typical applications include rolling and plain bearings, spline connections, clutches, sliding components and other metal-to-metal contact points. It can be used in demanding equipment such as construction machinery, agricultural machinery, cranes, conveyors, forklifts and motor vehicles. It is also suitable for situations where fretting corrosion, localized contact damage or moisture exposure may affect component service life.

For industrial maintenance programs, MOLYKOTE Longterm 2 Plus can be applied manually with suitable grease-handling tools or through compatible automatic lubrication equipment and centralized lubrication systems. Before application, the lubrication point should be cleaned and compatibility with the existing grease should be evaluated where necessary.
